blade sight WIP 2025/03/07 update notes
i'm very tired it's like 4am because of a number of reasons, but i wanted to get a build up _today_ (though it's 4am the next day now)
lots of changes here, some of which are numbers related and are not tuned, so may be way off;
-Game Overs (running out of lives) now causes encounters to reset.
-Encounter type in Ghost Valley's building no longer place walls, (this is temporary)
-Items have been adjusted, they are mostly visual now, the effects of most are now instant effects that happen
-Score is granted when killing enemies or dealing damage. Score adds towards curse level and grants extra lives at certain thresholds.
-Extra lives are roughly every 10000 points (a % is shown over the score value), the cost is increased for the number of extra lives in stock, and reduced for the amount of maxhp damage suu has
-Max number of lives that can be held in stock is 3
-Targeting was adjusted, it's now a locally found value for all characters, many minions now 'see' different
-In 2player mode, second player can now have their own target direction, and can also _be_ targeted by enemies
-Controller rebinding now properly listens for the selected controller port
-Deathbursting no longer grants 25% meter back, but is unblockable
-Weather is now randomized, and activated periodically. the flower meter in the UI shows the build up value, after a certain amount of build up the flower changes to the associated weather to forecast. at 99+ the weather activates. Spending meter, counter hits, bursting, grazing and clashes all advance the weather meter up. Weather can roll from any of the main 12 months.
-Earth Weather (Bamboo) is now Vapor, and active in hotsprings (heals characters in it, more if they are in water)
-Suu and Kiku have weakened hp stances. Suu and Deadnamedoll have idle fidget animations
-Girlfriends no longer spam specials in Thunderstorm weather when called as an assist
-Curse level has been adjusted, the rank goes up mainly by score, though hitting enemies, counter hitting, punishing, and clashing increase rank, while bursting, getting hit, and getting countered lower rank. Dying and Killing are the only things that can push curse rank over level thresholds, there is now a number on the moon gauge that shows the rank %. Upon ranking up, a small animation plays.
-Choosing -Please let it stop- when getting a Game Over now just sends back to home without resetting all progress. Progress can be reset at the bonfire in the Bell Shrine.
-Sometimes after certain circumstances, events may play when choosing -Please let it stop-
-Some of the strangeness with swapping characters in training mode was fixed
-extra lives ui icon is changed
-several new accessories and new palettes were added for the girls
-doll patio event has been adjusted, Gaji can now be spoken to immediately after the event
-enemies targeted on to the player when combat starts despawn (this can be overly sensitive right now)
-enemies when joining combat as a preplaced character now do a little invincible hop into the battle
some known issues; there are still some crashes that can happen if a character throws a projectile and then immediately despawns, and suu's bird acts strange when she despawns.
the YYC exports have been fine, part of why i'm way late on getting something up (in like, the hourly sense) is that yyc can sometimes have errors in the compilation that can act like other errors. I verified as much as i could to make sure everything is working, but i may have missed something weird.
