Unassorted Changes for 11/17/2023 -
This week the focus ended up shifting towards adjusting some enemy difficulty and curse difficulty. A few stats have been shuffled around (or more accurately; in progress of being shuffled around). Last week the change was made for point items and life pieces to be more common, and for point items to gain curse. There is now another type of item pickup which grant no points, but one unit of curse each. Enemy damage reduction is no longer affected by curse, instead changing max hp. Across the board as well, enemies are more fragile than before.
Another start to a big change is adjustments to enemy types. There is less variety of enemy attributes, and more variety in enemies: Effects such as Defense Banners and Low Break Defense are now staticly set by enemy type. The point rewards, skills, aitype, and hp stats are all set with their modifiers, so there are more commonly enemies that are glassier and less rewarding mixed with enemies that are tougher but more rewarding. This is a very in-progress-step and the variety has only gotten to PaperNinjas and GhostSamurai. A few of the encounter lists are messed up currently because of the change in enemy ids, so there may be some enemies who are weaker than they were previously.
Items are now proximity pickup, and have no timer. They'll collect up until suu moves closer to them. There is no ability to do an auto-collect yet. Sometimes points may scatter out of reach; this is rare, but it can currently happen.
Graphics were added to the end of the Opening Dream, which can be accessed from the Shrine by talking to the Miko.
Matsu's kill event has gotten graphics added to the first kill she does with Suu.
It has been a difficult week this week between personal family stuff and flu season. There were complications from the enemy index that hit in the middle of the week that really slowed things down.
This next week may not have a lot of development time due to holidays depending on how some stuff goes, but the current goal is to fix up more of the enemy data and clean up some of the variations. One of the affixes that is only used on one (unavailable outside of debug) enemy (super armor banner), which has a lot of weird little interactions, though it is very interesting to play against.
