blade sight WIP 2024/01/12 update notes


another week in 2024

i'm going to keep this short, i'm posting this early in the day because i'm starting to get fever-ish and dizzy and i want to go lay down again.

changes are brief this week, a lot got done but in a smaller kind of feel:

-palette updates to a lot of characters. matsu, momiji, gaji, and shizuka have been reencoded to use suu's indexing. what this means is they can share palette swaps. All characters have more palette options in the kimono menu now.

-kimono menu shows artwork for the character

-all menus linked to character data show a portrait for that character when a card is selected

-macro inputs no longer register as key-down inputs, only key-press input. button combo skills only look for the key press input, so they will still get the macro action. This was done to help mashing grab macro on round start causing other moves to be buffered

-hit grabs have been added, feral weapon's 236H grab is now a hit grab. it can be blocked as though it were a normal hit, but on hit turns into a grab. feral has been added to the training area as a weapon to pick up, as that was the stand-out non-functional move for it. card artwork has been added for all the feral attacks

-round intro and pop up text has been moved to the super flash system. they are allowed to overlap instead of overwrite. an partially unintended change to this is the two dream gauntlets are much quicker between rounds

-small changes to fx on projectile grazing

-small adjustments to suu's sprite (katana sheath and naginata pole don't use suu's haircolor anymore)
