blade sight WIP 2024/01/19 update notes


another week of january!

some fun things this week, but mostly on the back end, for me, as a treat. anyways here's the run down in no particular order...

collision optimizations should be a little faster, as game maker has included a new mask type that allowed me to disable the higher-overhead precise collisions to do sloped terrain. yay!

more projectiles have been moved over to danmaku, and danmaku has been expanded in functionality. all the arrows from the Yumi weapon are now coded as danmaku and should run smoother when fired in groups. homing shot has been redesigned partially, still needs work. butterfly is disabled as a selectable weakness card while it is unable to register danmaku hits. danmaku clashing is weird currently

suu's flippy jump has been adjusted, and her accessory should track better to the spin.

more characters have flippy jumps, jumpsquats, crouches, and landing animations. some characters use suu's currently.

more characters can dance using a place holder dance.

more characters can accept player control.

paper ninjas (white) have a grab and triple star throw.

several object classes now use pooling which should help with some performance

hairpin data storage has been changed. on first start up it should compute all the hairpin points. this will run after updates going forward to make it easier for me to iterate on sprite updates in regards to pin points.

more palette colors have been added.

menu added to the collection that allows for changing player and gf characters

uhhh i think that's it, i think mist is broken right now from the item pooling change...
