blade sight WIP 2024/02/16 update notes


happy valentine's day - this update has the first version of co-op

so with the girlfriend update that allowed for mimicing movement from their partner, i realized this was not too far of from co-op. the action economy for girlfriends was tied together, so it was meaningfully different, but I'm trying out a little extra mode where control of the girlfriend can be taken by another player. so the menu has another page for controller mapping to allow for the second player input to be bound to a controller, and the keyboard can be assigned to 'player 1' or 'player 2'

balance-wise girlfriends don't exactly have access to grab since the gf button sets them back to normal mode, they can't block attacks, and damage puts them into the dismissed mode on a cooldown, but they can then be tagged back in at any time (even while suu is attacking) by the other player if the cooldown is done.

some other changes this week are hit changes for lantern/hanging enemies (they juggle differently than before), and some tests on new types of projectiles. a lot of the work has been on changing some of my scripting tools for projectiles to make things like recast clearing, animation, and attack warnings work more cleanly and easily in different situations. you may notice that lantern enemies have a 'projectile' version of ghost skull enemies, which may replace them as an enemy type.

anyways, it's a little tricky to test all the edge cases with the gf 2player system, as am not Momiji and I don't have 6 arms. One but i know of is that gfs don't check the cost of meter skills currently, as that check was done by their partner character, since they share meter, so player2: have fun having infinite meter (that also burns up 1 player's meter)
