blade sight WIP 2024/04/19 update notes


im back!

i ended up taking a break here from uploading due to various reasons. work has been slow and spotty, so i never felt like i had anything sufficient for a end-of-week update.

now for the changes:

-camera zones are added to some areas. the camera focuses on a specific area and snaps along to suu's movement. it's mainly used for focusing on important settings and allows me to clamp the camera pan in some areas, as well as delineate rooms for interiors more.

-camera zone encounters - enemies can use camera zones as a battlefield for encounters. this causes the boundaries for the camera to become walls to use for combat. when an encounter isn't running, being locked on to an enemy in the same 'zone' as you causes the walls to act as solid for you. this allows for comboing enemies in hallways if they are at a division.

-water movement. suu floats now. floating in water acts as though the character is grounded, so the water is essentially a type of floor. you can attack and jump and dash as normal, though water influences the movement of characters by adding resistance to sideways and downwards motion, and also prevents characters from going into the hard-knockdown state and instead causes characters to go into the soft-knockdown ground roll. water must be of a sufficient depth to cause the float status, but will impede movement based the character's depth in the water.

-training mode updates - you can select a few more options regarding defense for enemies. defense cards on enemies can be made unbreakable, and defense cards can also be set to a specific card in the player's skill list.

-some changes to character body collisions. pushback has been adjusted for some characters, and the hitbox accuracy has been increased. floating characters should behave more consistently in some cases with regards to body collisions.
